Division Chief - Public Safety Operations

Description

The Public Safety Department is composed of six divisions whose collective mission is to contribute to the health, safety, and well-being of our community.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS): a first responder service receiving over 4,000 assignments a year.

Public Security: responsible for enforcing bylaws and ensuring the safety of municipal facilities and infrastructures.

Volunteer Citizens on Patrol (vCOP): works in collaboration with Public Security, EMS, and Montreal Police Department to patrol and report problems or suspicious activity.

24-hour dispatch center: receives and processes calls and dispatches municipal resources to urgent calls.

Training center: provides initial and ongoing training for all personnel.

Local coordination of emergency measures.

These divisions bring together over 200 employees and volunteers who make a difference every day.

Division Chief - Operations Division

As Division Chief, you will oversee and optimize these units, ensuring excellent service to citizens and efficient management of public funds.

Schedule

35 h/week management position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional work outside normal hours may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Organize schedules and manage payroll.

Coordinate fleet rotation and maintenance.

Develop operational plans and assist in critical incidents.

Maintain relationships with operational partners.

Monitor performance using indicators.

Ensure compliance with procedures and occupational standards.

Support management team and respond to emergency calls.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

Five years' supervisory and management experience in security or emergency services. First responder certification required.
