In considering candidates for appointment into the advertised posts, preference will be accorded to persons from a designated group in accordance with the approved Nelson Mandela University Employment Equity Plan.CORE PURPOSE OF JOBTo build and enhance the name, identity and brand of Nelson Mandela University as a dynamic African university, recognised for its leadership in generating cutting-edge knowledge for a sustainable future.To position Nelson Mandela University as one of the leading African universities amongst key internal and external institutional stakeholders. KEY PERFORMANCE AREASProvide strategic management, innovative, transformative and transformational leadership to the   Communication and Marketing division and the University.Build and enhance the Nelson Mandela University name, identity and brand.Lead the development and deployment of institutional stakeholder communication and engagement strategies, platforms and tools, working closely with executive and senior leadership of the University within the support and academic structures.Strategically manage stakeholder communication and engagement programmes and infrastructure.Lead the development and implementation of student recruitment strategies.Reposition the University's Arts, Culture and Heritage function in line with the transformative and transformational ambitions of Mandela University.Embed a culture of resource stewardship, strategic financial management and empowering people management.CORE COMPETENCIES  Strong strategic, and transformative leadership skillsThorough understanding of the SA higher education sectorUnderstanding of  internationalisation trends in higher educationStrategic thinking and planning skillsStrong proficiency in market analysis and a deep understanding of brand positioningExcellent communication capabilitiesChange management and transformation skillsComplex problem-solving skillsStrong project management skillsStrong people and financial management skillsExcellent interpersonal and networking skillsExpertise in digital marketing, public relations, team management, and the ability to adapt to evolving market trends. REQUIREMENTS A Master's degree in a marketing and communications discipline..At least 8-10 years senior management experience.Experience in a senior leadership position in Higher Education will be an added advantage.All shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo psychometric assessments.
