No doubt about it: You’ll be stepping into key-player territory here, making it rain and continue to rain, owning every stage in the sales cycle. You’ll be out there prospecting and pitching and handling RFPs, negotiating contracts, closing deals, and managing accounts. You’ll pull on your extensive rolodex to engage with a who’s-who of blue-chip clients, leveraging your deep knowledge of digital services to provide them with smart, tailored solutions that will put them out ahead of the pack. That’ll mean close collaboration with the team internally, constant communication and a sense of shared responsibility for the company’s success. While your sales skill — and experience — is crucial, it’s just as important that you came up through interactive agencies so that you really know the game. By this point in your career, you’ve been right in the trenches during the implementation of some truly complex projects for super-important clients, so you know what all the ingredients are and how to mix them. You love being the tip of the spear, you thrive on the energy of bringing home the bacon — and yet your secret edge is how collaborative you are, how much you enjoy (and benefit from) huddling with your teammates to develop the best strategies and angles of approach.
