Job Description

Role Overview The role holder reports to the Country Head of NFR within the Wholesale COO function and is responsible for is responsible for identification & management of lending fraud related threat instances for CMB & GB customers of the bank in the country & conducting visits to the client site of operations to identify any lending fraud related threat instances for CMB & GB customer. As per the risk based approach, some of these visits will be conducted by an internal specialist team and some by vendor teams. The role holder will be required to manage the internal reviews and filter fraud risk indicators & threats before any action is taken or request for information are passed on to frontline teams/relationship managers. The role holder will also be required to coordinate vendor visits required & the output of such visits done by the vendor. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expert support on client visitation to the 1st LOD business and 2nd LOD WCR stakeholders
  • Conduct visits to a client’s site of operations in order to assess the consistency of what is seen physically with what the bank knows about the customer through financial statements and bank facility usage. Such locations of visits can include a warehouse, a factory, a showroom, etc.
  • The purpose of the visit would be to conduct an inspection review of the inventory and/or physical operations management framework and provide assurance on the scale & veracity of the clients operating activities. Such a visit should conduct visual checks and where required compare to registers of the volume & value of materials/inventory.
  • Draft reports on the output of such visits that enable decision making.
  • Collate the list of customers that require a vendor visit based on risk triggers referred by various teams (RM, WMR, FCC, etc)
  • Manage the day to day relationship with the vendor including receiving the output of vendor visits.
  • Conduct a thematic analysis of visits conducted by the internal specialist team and vendor on a quarterly basis.
  • Work collaboratively with RM team and Credit Risk Approvals to determine if a credible threat exists to the Bank
  • Provide feedback to improve the threat identification & risk management processes
  • Review outputs of fraud analytical tools to assess materiality of the risk indicators
  • Initiate risk management actions, where appropriate, during the Triage process and provide full support to stakeholders to take a judgmental decision on the specific transaction.
  • Responsible for invoking and running the ‘ First Responder/ Incident Responses / Triage of Threat’ meeting with relevant representatives where the customer in
  • Completion of the risk assessment paper and propose next steps for the client identified – WWM, UAR, Annual credit review.
  • Provide subject matter expert support and conduct investigations as needed and share outcomes with 1st LOD business and 2nd LOD WCR stakeholders
  • Coordinate with product partners such as GTRF, GLCM, Global Markets and others to deliver appropriate risk mitigation outcomes
  • Represent Regional Head of BFCR & Fraud in governance forums as required
