Job Description

Leverage your abilities and join the dynamic team of a leading company specializing in the Oil & Gas industry in Cairo, Egypt. Asa Lead Accounting Analyst in the oil and gas industry is responsible for managing financial operations, including regulatory compliance and reporting, to ensure accurate financial statements. This role plays a critical part in analyzing costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Key Accountabilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the financial accounting and reporting functions.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements and other necessary financial reports.
  • Coordinate the preparation of all regulatory and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Address and resolve complex accounting issues to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in the management of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control over all financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop, implement, and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
  • Analyze financial data and reports to provide insights and recommendations for improved financial performance.
  • Collaborate with internal audit teams to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff to help them understand and manage their responsibilities effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 4-7 years of professional Accounting experience.
  • International experience, particularly in Africa or Mozambique, preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Advanced accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proven accounting and financial reporting skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Capable of meeting strict deadlines.
  • Experience in commercial management or budgeting is advantageous.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) experience is beneficial.
  • Expertise in Business Development is considered a plus.
