Senior Engineer Rotating/Static

Description Job Purpose: Design, plan, organize and coordinate all engineering activities connected with Rotating equipment with inter department discipline engineers and engineering consultants. Key Areas: 1. Design & develop various rotating equipment (Pumps, Compressors, Turbine, Fans etc) & systems, & redesign of existing equipment / systems according to applicable standards, ensuring that rotating equipment complies with all technical requirements including applicable rules and regulations, company specifications and international standards; leading to Operations departments having the appropriate & correct optimized best fitting and most economic rotating equipment for a particular application in right time. 2. Prepare and raise purchase requisitions that are necessary for materials and equipment, ensuring availability of required material at right time in right quantity. 3. Review, verify equipment supplier s design, engineering package (GA drawings / Details / Calculations / Installation Procedures), specification, the testing, and recommend for approval for commissioning of equipment, ensuring the received equipment s fit for the purpose and ready for operation. 4. Review all received Technical Bids for rotating equipment and associated components and recommend appropriate bid for approval, ensuring company receives best quality equipment at reasonable cost. 5. Prepare Equipment s Technical Specifications, such as Specification and Mechanical Data Sheets, for enquiry / order and estimates for engineering and design manhours; ensuring accurate and correct Design shared leading quicker turnover time for equipment from design to installation. 6. Provide technical expertise and help ensure that all new and existing equipment installations are completed and commissioned successfully as per the standards & procedures. 7. Develop and update on regular basis the Rotating Equipment Technical Specification and Procedures in Engineering records of the company. Knowledge, Skills and Expertise: Minimum Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 10 (Ten) years experience in Rotating equipment design and troubleshoot work in an Oil Refinery or Petro-Chemical Plant, 5 years of which should be in a supervisory capacity. Qualified as Chartered Engineer (CEng) accredited by reputed engineering council like Engineering Council-UK, Institution of Mechanical Engineers-UK, Institution of Engineers -India, etc is desirable. Comprehensive knowledge of Rotating equipment design and troubleshooting techniques. Sound understanding of International and Company standards / Procedures. Ability to prepare and review RFP packages, technical bid. Ability to write clear and concise reports, letters, proposals, memoranda & presentations. Good oral and written communication skills.
