Junior IT Auditor (entry level)

Systems Accounting & IT Audit (Accounting) Audit Planning and Execution: Assist in planning and executing audits of the organization's IT systems, applications, and infrastructure to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and regulations. This includes preparing audit scopes, objectives, and work plans. Control Evaluation: Examine and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of IT internal controls (General IT Controls). This includes reviewing system access controls, data integrity procedures, backup and disaster recovery plans, and information security policies. Documentation and Reporting: Document findings, conclusions, and recommendations from audit activities. Assist in preparing clear and concise audit reports that communicate audit results to management and relevant stakeholders. Document work performed. Follow-up and Remediation: Follow up on audit findings to ensure that corrective actions are implemented effectively and within agreed timelines. This may involve re-testing controls after remediation efforts have been made. Requirements: Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field. Certifications (preferred but not required): Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) can be beneficial. Skills and Knowledge : A foundational understanding of IT governance, IT frameworks (such as COBIT, ITIL), data analysis tools, cybersecurity principles, and regulatory requirements related to IT (e.g., GDPR, SOX). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. Experience: While direct experience in IT auditing may not be required for a junior position, internships or experience in IT, cybersecurity, or risk management can be advantageous.
