Job Title: Design Team Lead Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ROLE: OLIVER is looking to recruit a Design/Services Team Leader ( English Speaking ) to work on-site with one of our key clients locally. The ideal candidate will have a strong integrated design background, with a deep knowledge of digital first advertising and creative. This person will be looking to develop their management skills and wants to build effective working relationships with our client’s key stakeholders. The role is a hybrid role that will be split between design and client management. This role will report into a Lead Creative for all things creative and into a Regional Business Director for everything relating to the overall business and client leadership. Together with a Junior Digital Designer, you will be leading an account around all things digital design including, social media, E-commerce, creative ideation, art working and offline design collateral. You will also be responsible supporting with some reporting for the APAC account team. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Key Roles and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for brand guardianship – applying consistency across all outputs. Experience in CRM, digital and offline is desired.
  • Producing short-form mobile first innovative digital content for the client’s websites, digital applications and social media channels 

  • To be responsible for the full creative lifecycle from concept to execution 

  • To work actively with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the highest level of client service – from brief, creative, design and production
  • To work closely with clients to create strong concepts from the initial briefing 

  • To develop a deep understanding of target audiences and the clients marketing strategy to deliver high quality results that have an instant, positive impact on the consumer, promoting the product or brand 

  • To pitch creative solutions in response to marketing strategies 

  • To provide leadership, best practise and direction to the Junior Digital Designer and multidisciplinary client digital team 

  • Manage and coordinate the sharing of brand and campaign knowledge pertaining to the different projects/work you own coming from a country level across all internal and client departments as necessary, to aid the development of creative ideas for the project.
  • To oversee and manage the preparation of all finished artwork files that will comply with the correct output specifications 

  • To ensure all design work adheres to the best practises of digital and social trends and requirements
  • Managing projects deliverables and key deadlines
  • Supporting with BAU Design work
  • Quality control
  • Client relations, main point of contact on-site, managing day to day relationships with key stakeholder
  • Creative and quality oversight for work produce locally
  • Work with key clients to deliver the following types of projects:
    • Social media and E-Commerce specific like Facebook, Lazada and YouTube
    • On-site design updates (mostly posters, icons, logos and presentation slides)
    • Support on visual identity and tone of voice for campaign materials including POS and OOH
    • Merchandise design and production
    • Support on one-off projects (eg brand day, anniversaries, social activities)
    • Constant and pro-active branded assets optimisation throughout the company
  • Creating monthly MI reports and providing insight into account strategy
  • Ensures SLA’s/KPIs are adhered to
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:
  • To be self-motivated, working with little supervision, communicating clearly with a line manager about own development needs.
  • Excellent client engagement skills with the ability to proactively organise and influence clients and build strong and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to effectively manage people through leadership and mentoring.
  • The ability to manage and filter workflow as well as organise and prioritise workloads to maximise productivity
  • Ability to take and challenge a client’s brief, help them through the creative process.
  • Some exposure and knowledge of account management
  • Creative ability with strong adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Ability to manage resource not only in terms of the onsite team but regular additional resource for peaks and projects
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work across a team of three (themselves and two others)
  • Comfortable managing large design projects
  • Guardian of the client’s brand guidelines, constantly challenging and developing them
  • Working knowledge of digital design and its requirements is a benefit
Role-specific skills, knowledge and experience: Essential:
  • Excellent client engagement skills with the ability to proactively organise and influence clients and build strong and effective working relationships
  • To have previously pro-actively managed multiple projects and work to tight deadlines. You will be coming into a new account that requires a strong creative lead
  • Experience of developing creative ideas and be confident presenting these to the client
  • Strong Adobe CS (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Relevant design/creative/management experience
  • Relevant knowledge across production, print and digital
  • Awareness of emerging trends in design and the digital landscape
  • Strong communication skills and ensure that internal processes are maintained and improved.
