About the Role This role is a cornerstone in driving the commercial performance of the business, offering a blend of traditional accounting responsibilities and strategic financial analysis. With a genuine commercial approach, you will be instrumental in understanding and optimising costs to enhance overall performance working closely with the GM. There is a full JD available but as a snapshot. Key Responsibilities:- Lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy across all transactions.
- Drive budgeting and forecasting processes, providing critical insights into financial planning.
- Engage closely with the manufacturing team to analyse and report on project budgets and financial outcomes.
- Uplift the quality of financial analysis for major contracts, focusing on cost optimisation and commercial viability.
- Potential longer term for a transition to new financial systems and processes, preparing the division for future technological upgrades.
- Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/CIMA) with solid experience in manufacturing and exposure to budgeting/forecasting.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen, with a track record of driving performance improvements.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of working closely with senior management and leading one direct report
- Excellent analytical abilities, adept at navigating complex financial data to inform strategic decisions.
- Flexible and adaptable, ready to support the company through potential changes
- Effective communicator, able to liaise across departments and with external partners
- Six months with a permanent opportunity longer time
- Based in South Auckland with a direct report
- Immediate start with an hourly rate ideally $60-75 GST
