Software Engineer

Required 3+ year experience in automation/scripting/programmingDesired Skills:· Should have expertise in writing scripts on Unix or Windows Environments· Demonstrable knowledge of Scripting in at least 1 scripting language. (PowerShell, Bash, Perl, JavaScript etc.)· An understanding of ITIL (MSP) operations and systems administration.· Strong background in a systems admin role (Windows / Unix / Database / Storage / Backup / Network) along with script supported automation is preferred.· Strong experience with regular expressions, API's, JavaScript, Python, JSON, SQL, and Scripting is good to have.· Familiar with Cognitive technologies· Drives improvements and process innovation.· Possesses good analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.· Moderately strong interpersonal and communication skills· Flexible, can do & can learn attitude.· Familiar with Cognitive technologiesExperience:· Possess 3+ year experience in automation/scripting/programming.Qualifications:· Bachelor's degree in computer science / information technology or any equivalent.Responsibilities:· Work through innovating by creating automation.· Leverage internal and SMEs to gather details to enhance automation.· Repair impacted automations to ensure higher levels of autonomic success.· Help build global consistency by developing against internal software standards.· Drive higher levels of autonomic resolution and diagnostics through continual refinement of automation.· Communicate with client over requirement analysis, code reviews & testing.Additional qualifications/skills, if any:· Good knowledge of any operating system.· Basic knowledge of networking, database, web services, Nagios, Java, Perl (or PHP), application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere, ATG, Resin) etc.· Past Systems Admin role with scripting created supporting automation - a good 50/50 mix.· Working knowledge of Jira, ServiceNow, SaaS and API development.· Preparation of test cases and plan & perform regression testing(s).· Familiar with Cognitive technologies.
