Transmission Engineer Stellenbosch - Hybrid

These jobs were popular with other job seekers IP Core & Transmission Engineer (Stellenbosch based) will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and optimisation of the Core network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our IP core and transmission network to ensure we meet the uptime requirements of the network. This is a Hybrid position - the successful candidate will spend 3 days' a week in the Stellenbosch Office so must reside in or near the Office. The successful candidate must have Driver's License and own transport. Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibility Areas: Technical: Responsible for the national IP Core: Physical infrastructure around the country at the main peering points mainly the 3 Teraco's. Configuration and management of the Core IP equipment. Manage and secure all IP Peering and Peering policies. Capacity and Route optimization management. Manage and lead WISP integration onto the centralized IP Core. Transmission network of client: Build, manage and operate national transmission network based on MPLS. Optimize and manage route and traffic flows. Ensure redundancy and service availability SLA's are met with the WISP's. Manage and lead WISP integration onto the National Transmission network. Responsible for the management and security of the companies IP Space. Support and manage shared service infrastructure at aggregation points. Manage WISP resources to complete and report on Network. Define, test and implement in conjunction with WISP best practices for Routing policies. Lead and assist with the development and implementation of standardized best practices. Support the WISP with their internal network deployments. Communications and support to ISPs. Desired Experience & Qualification Matric and tertiary qualification Technical certifications MikroTik (MTCTE, MTCRE, MTCNA), Fortinet (NSE1), Cisco (CCNA, CCDP, CCNP or other certifications, Minimum of 5 years ISP / SP experience Expert proficiency in working on Mikrotik Routers and Switches Project and Project management experience Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills English and Afrikaans proficiency Expert proficiency in Routing Protocols both internal and external (OSPF / BGP / ISIS etc.) Expert proficiency in L2 switching Proficiency Mac OS X would be a big win Experience with Arista Equipment would be Package & RemunerationCompetitive and market relatedThese jobs were popular with other job seekers
