Associate Director, Investment & Strategy (Data Centre)

We are looking for a strategic thinker with a passion for driving business growth and development, has strong analytical abilities and good project management/organisational skills. In this role, you will be responsible for strategy development, both organic and inorganic investments, which includes assessing new pipeline opportunities and developing business case for greenfield projects, as well as managing a portfolio of strategic initiatives. You will be deeply involved in developing business strategy and plans through steering and facilitating discussions with various teams. You will need to stay attuned to market dynamics and carry out competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities and areas of competitive advantage for the business. The role also provides the opportunity to support senior management on various engagements with key stakeholders. Make an Impact by

• Focus on deal origination, evaluation, financial modelling, due diligence (project management, documentation, structuring and negotiation) and execution for required projects e.g. greenfield developments, acquisitions etc
• Assessment of deal issues including strategic rationale, valuation, risks assessment and mitigants and impact to Singtel. Coordination with external advisors (e.g. legal, tax, technical etc), internal corporate functions and business reps in analysing, evaluating and addressing deal issues
• Management of the overall deal process including internal approval processes including Exco, Board and various stakeholders (e.g. relevant authorities)
• Support on strategy development including assessment of markets, competitive landscape, sustainability / innovation and industry benchmarking
• Support portfolio management of existing investments including overseeing joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, managing governance and tracking KPIs and performance

• Degree in Business Administration/Management, Economics and Finance, or related field
• Proven experience in investments and strategy development
• At least 9-10 years of relevant investment experience, with at least 2 years’ experience in a project lead capacity
• Deep technical expertise in commercial and financial valuation DC assets or companies or new business opportunities (not limited to DCF)
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify financial impact of business decisions and make appropriate recommendations on available alternatives
• Experience in negotiating agreements. Good understanding of key terms and legal framework
• Strong project management skills with proven track record in managing multiple, complex and rapidly changing projects with the proper prioritization decision making and corrective measures
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
