Must Have

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, or a related field from an accredited program, with a preference for an advanced degree.
  • Have 12 years of experience in heavy construction safety, preferably in the oil/gas, petrochemical, or construction project management sectors.
  • Demonstrate expertise in delivering hands-on health, safety, and environmental training, and the ability to assist in developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for training, presentations, and report writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
  • Capable of working at all levels within an organization and in diverse workgroups.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing and reporting contractor compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements in contracts.
  • Conducting pre construction meetings to explain safety requirements as per contract scope.
  • Monitoring Key Performance Indicators for opportunities to improve performance.
  • Developing and delivering safety training.
  • Providing advice to maintain a safe working environment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Identifying and evaluating workplace hazards and conducting surveys.
  • Coordinating on-site inspections to assess physical conditions and safe practices.
  • Inspecting department facilities and operations for safety compliance.
  • Conducting safety inspections, hazard analyses, and preparing reports.
  • Developing hazard controls and overseeing their implementation.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of hazard control systems and recommending improvements.
  • Creating safety orientation, training, and inspection procedures.
  • Assisting in new employee occupational health, safety, and environmental orientation.
  • Participating in Safe Operations Committee meetings.
  • Analyzing injury, property damage, and loss data, and making recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Ensuring safety requirements are incorporated into purchasing and contracting actions.
