We are seeking a professional Platform Engineer to join a small platform team who are maintaining and progressing our client's virtual estate. Your future duties and responsibilities Diagnosing and solutioning problems with the system in live and non-prod Increase the efficiency of system deployments, freeing up more time for development opportunities Automating from-the-ground-up full system deployments using Ansible and other automated deployment tools Assisting the client in their 'Journey to the cloud' understanding Hybrid cloud and migration stratergies Understanding the challenges of legacy workloads and how to 'lift and shift' from older environments to later technology Facilitate the journey from Isolated and zone based networks to Zero Trust Implementation Ensure adherence to secure coding standards and best practices. Provide estimates and review the work of fellow engineers. Assist as part of a team on the design components of systems. Required qualifications to be successful in this role Linux (Red Hat / CentOS)Virtualisation (VMWare)Containerisation (Docker/Docker Compose)Automation (Ansible) Desired Competencies: IP Networking (LAN/WAN)Security (Firewalls/System Hardening)Windows (Active Directory)Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) Due to the secure nature of the programme/role, you will need to hold the highest level of UK Security Clearance, or be eligible to go through National Security Vetting to obtain this clearance Working pattern: due to the secure nature of the work we are operating with a hybrid working policy. We would expect our members to be in their local office as and when required.
