Job Description As the National Sales Manager for Isuzu Trucks New Zealand (NZ), you’ll be joining the broader General Motors Australia & New Zealand (GM ANZ) team.Within our talented team, you'll find the flexibility you need to make choices that suit your individual needs and unique skill set. General Motors has been the distributor for Isuzu Heavy Trucks in New Zealand since the mid 1970s, with our mission being to deliver a premium product to the market. Your purpose as the National Sales Manager is to lead all activity relating to Isuzu Trucks Sales, in order to achieve all budgeted volumes (both retail and wholesale), standards of excellence in the dealer network and projected Isuzu New Zealand profitability targets. As well as playing an integral role in the Isuzu Team and wider GM business. Your responsibilities will be across five main areas, these being leadership, forecasting, distribution, sales and finance. Leadership
- Become a leader in determining areas of opportunity and drive continuous improvement in the dealer network from a Sales point of view.
- Work with the wider Isuzu team to develop strategies which ensure the ongoing viability of the Dealer network.
- Conduct regular dealer performance reviews alongside the General Manager. Develop strategies and incentives to ensure targets and budgets are achieved.
- Support the General Manager – Isuzu and work with the Isuzu Motors Japan team for day to day management of the Isuzu Truck NZ operation. This includes preparing and presenting sales plans to the wider team.
- Develop end of month reports confirming results and forecasts.
- Continually assess future product strategies with the goal of enhancing GMNZ opportunities.
- Manage the overall forecasting requirements.
- Advise product team on long term portfolio changes for competitors in the market.
- Resolve and action all dealer queries in a timely manner.
- Work alongside Dealers to order the correct levels of stock to ensure sales targets are met.
- Ensure all legislative requirements are met to ensure that the import of all vehicles is complete in a timely manner.
- Communicate any new model introductions in the market and their competitiveness against Isuzu Trucks NZ.
- Ensure Dealer compliance with all relevant CI (Corporate Identity) guidelines.
- Achieve truck wholesale and retail forecasts, while managing and motivating Dealer sales activities.
- Work to improve the profitability of Isuzu through genuine accessories.
- Monitor market activity and competitive trends and make recommendations for price and specifications accordingly.
- Keep up to date with all Isuzu product features and specifications, as well as how they track compared to competition. Work closely with the General Manager and Product Engineers to determine the product range for NZ.
- Provide product pricing support to the Dealer Network.
- Ensure all Dealers represent the Isuzu brand and comply with all agreements put in place, as well as assisting them to develop Sales Evaluation Guides and IPR targets.
- When necessary with the team to conceptualise and execute sales promotions.
- Track and manage all Dealers performance, as well as conducting regular reviews of the network against key metrics and develop action plans to put in place when necessary.
- Regular dealer visits to continue to develop relationships and operational efficiencies, as well as gain direct direct feedback from key customers.
- Assist in the development of fleet pricing structures.
- Work closely with the finance team for all activities to do with costing, sign off and initiatives.
- Present opportunities to the finance team and work closely with financial services to implement strategies which increase the effectiveness of the Isuzu Dealer Network.
