About Job::
In this role, the Senior Navigation Officer responsibilities will include any of the following, subject to qualifications: Route Analysis, Aerodrome Review, Navigation Charting & FMS Navigation Databases and Aeronautical Services Information (AIS).
Route Analysis: You will work with Corporate Planning, Cargo and Network Operations in matters relating to aerodrome operations, aircraft payload studies, navigation charges, trip fuel consumption. Seasonal review of block times and payloads in conjunction with stakeholders. Identify route improvements during the initial study phase for internal review. Analysis of new future aircraft types , aircraft comparison studies , special projects as assigned. Provision of city pair operating costs to respective departments.
Aerodrome Review: Preparation and maintenance of aerodrome assessments and briefing material(s). Maintain company authorised and category aerodrome listing. Prepare and maintain company approved aerodrome alternate listing. Compile briefing material, prepare in-house presentations and navigation material related to new destinations and ad-hoc flights. Work closely with internal teams on new routes structures , policies , ensuring accurate routing planning data is available company manuals. Preparation of OM PART C amendments. Ad-Hoc flights: Preparation of work to support Ad-Hoc operations as and when necessary. Obtain pavement concessions at aerodromes where and when required. Take corrective action on trip kits reports raised. Post flight - Review, analyses and respond to queries raised.
Navigation Charting & FMS Navigation Databases: FMS NAVDB: Review of customised specific types procedures, ie RNP-AR. Review of safety alerts / addendums issued by 3rd party provider, liaise with 3rd party provider data handling, Supervise distribution of navigation databases for each AIRAC Cycle. Comprehensive review of navigation terminal charts / textual airway manual(s) / Airport Moving Maps (AMM) , Enroute charts whether in electronic or paper format for compliance with Qatar Airways standards, PAN Ops 8168 , QCAR Ops , through review of State Publications , ie AIPs. Approve and release of weekly amendment ( paper / electronic ). Define , create and maintain tailored navigation charts in conjunction with 3rd party providers. Control & Maintain listing for tailored manual (Paper & Electronic ) used in Qatar Airways operation taking into consideration fleet type and geographical area of coverage. Take corrective action on trip kits reports raised for area of responsibility. Post flight - review, analyses and responds to queries raised.
Aeronautical Services Information (AIS): Management of Aeronautical Publication subscription services. AIPs - Assessment of content , notification to end user(s). Conduct in-depth research on complex Class I NOTAMs and AIP content. Filtering of NOTAMs from pilot briefing packages. Liaise with State providers on queries regarding content of State publication(s), ie NOTAMs AIPs. Assist stakeholders in obtaining aeronautical information. Supervise officers & coordinators to ensure that a high quality of work is maintained
