EnCompass LLC is seeking a Chief of Party (COP) for an upcoming USAID Jordan Women's Economic Empowerment and Leadership Activity (WEELA). The project aims to improve women's access to the job market, enhance the workforce enabling environment, and address inequalities and prohibitive social norms and traditions. We are looking for a candidate to lead and manage all activities to achieve project results. S/he will provide vision and overall leadership to EnCompass operations and drive the achievement of project results by ensuring the provision of timely, relevant, and high-quality services. Experience with USAID-funded projects is required.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Essential functions include:

• Provide technical direction and strategic oversight of the WEELA project
• Lead project work planning, including coordinating with public and private sector partners
• Oversee all technical and management inputs as well as financial planning and budgeting processes
• Ensure project objectives are implemented under realistic and clearly developed plans
• Supervise the work of all personnel assigned to tasks under the contract
• Serve as the primary point of contact with USAID on day-to-day project implementation and management issues
• Ensure timely, accurate, and user-friendly reporting on the progress and status of all services provided under the contract
• Deliver high-level reports and presentations to the client and government partners on WEELA

Position Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master's degree in gender, women's economic empowerment, or other relevant international development fields
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible management experience in the international development field, including on USAID projects
• At least 7 years of experience managing an international development team, including both local and international staff, preferably with previous experience as a COP, DCOP, or project director on a USAID project
• Citizen or permanent resident of Jordan preferred

Experience and Skills

• Demonstrated experience in implementing gender integration and women's economic empowerment in Jordan
• Knowledge of women's economic empowerment opportunities and challenges in Jordan
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with partner governments, donors, and national and international NGOs
• Familiarity with USAID/Jordan mission is preferred
• Experience with managing programmatic and financial reporting requirements
• Excellent communication skills, including both verbal and written Arabic and English skills
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills in recruiting, developing, and managing staff and teams
