As the Deputy Executive Director, you will play a key role in the strategic development, planning and implementation of key programmes and services. You will oversee SPCA's education and outreach efforts, public relations, fundraising and stakeholder engagement and management, taking a hands-on approach when required. You will inspire and empower dedicated teams to achieve all targets set and to provide critical support for our animal protection work.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development, planning and delivery of various impactful programmes and services, developing and managing budgets, with an outcome-focused approach
- Assist the executive director in ensuring day to day operations run smoothly
- Motivate staff to perform at their best and to consistently achieve targets
- Enhance outreach and education efforts to deliver key animal welfare messages to a broad-based audience
- Oversee and develop SPCA's communication platforms, and publicity and branding efforts, and actively enhance message delivery
- Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to grow the organisation's income, and develop and build positive relationships with individual donors and corporates
- Increase revenue for the organisation through various channels
- Oversee volunteer management and actively grow and develop the volunteer base
- Develop a positive working environment and contribute to a strong learning culture
Requirements
- Passion for animal welfare
- Degree in any discipline
- At least five years of management experience, including managing operations
- Proven track record in leading teams to meet and exceed targets
- Strong planning, analytical and decision making abilities
- Be able to take a hands-on approach to managing departments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess multidisciplinary project skills and able to work under the pressure of various concurrent priorities, be meticulous and meet deadlines consistently
- Mature and personable with excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including board members, staff, volunteers, donors and external community partners
