Architecture and Design Manager

**Role Purpose**:- Has Technology & Business focus to guide the evolution of IT in a way that delivers business value using top-notch technologies in a cost-effective way.- Leads, plans, manages and develops Vodafone IT Enterprise Architecture, Design and Business Analysis teams.- Develops IT architecture blueprints with reference to Vodafone Group and industry standards.- Set the standards for IT systems, frameworks, tools and practices to meet business requirements in the most effective and efficient ways.- Reduces redundancy, complexity, information silos and business risks associated with IT investments.- Oversees, improves and suggest enterprise services and systems to reach the ideal state for IT architecture.- Supports business teams to define the best-fit solutions for business challenges.- Supports technical teams to build/buy the best systems that meet business & technical strategies and fulfil the operational, security & privacy guidelines.**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:**Strategy & planning**:- Participate in strategic and operational governance processes as a member of the IT senior management team.- Lead Architecture function strategy, objectives and operational planning to achieve its goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing initiatives.- Define Governance principles across the Enterprise and Solution Architectures to steer IT architecture towards a desired end state.**Delivery & Operational Management**:- Responsible for all delivered Architecture & Integration services to meet the requirements of Vodafone customers, business units and operations units within planned timelines.- Ensure continuous operations of Integration services and systems availability through oversight of service level agreements and monitoring of systems performance.- Review software acquisition and maintenance contracts.**Budgeting**:- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for Architecture & Integration spending and initiatives.- Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in Integration systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.- Plan, manage and review allocated budget for effective utilization.**Key performance indicators**:- On-time delivery of all projects with zero major production bugs.- Platforms availability and performance.- Adhere to the Industry/Group Architecture & IT 5 years Strategy.- Building team calibres with at least 2 successors who can lead the team in future.**Role Qualifications**:**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:- Excellent knowledge of Enterprise IT systems and services.- Strong leadership and communication skills.- Excellent customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.- Innovative & customer obsessed.- Results driven and solutions focused.**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:- +10 yrs of IT experience.- +3 yrs experience of leading a team.- Excellent knowledge of Software Engineering principles.- Ability to translate Business Strategy and needs into Enterprise Architecture blueprints; estimate the financial impact of architectural alternatives.- Demonstrable track record of delivering on projects that span multi-disciplinary areas, preferably in a large telecommunications, Enterprise Architecture, Business and IT environments.- Extensive experience in Business / IT Consultancy using leading methodologies and processes delivering strong technology solutions with a variety of Service Providers.- Having basic knowledge of Cybersecurity, Cloud, Big Data and FinTech technologies.**Direct Reports**:3 Full Time direct supervisors20 Full Time Indirect Employees
