Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments and treasury services. Founded in 1864, they are the 10th largest bank worldwide and the 5th in North America, as measured by market capitalization. Our client has a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones employing a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their ‘centres of excellence’ and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally. What will you do?
- Responsible for effective management of Corporate Actions workflows including and not limited to adherence to SLA, handling escalations from team members, technical support for team members and workload review.
- Provide subject matter expertise around complex Corporate Actions handling in support of the team processing requirements and responsibilities.
- Contact counterparties to liaise with escalation matters.
- Role covers: Corporate Actions Lifecycle Management from announcement through to Entitlement Processing.
- Calculation of Unit Trust Distributions in line with Group 1 + Group 2 payment splitting
- Stock and Cash Reconciliation to monitor any outstanding ledger or statements entries.
- Drives and plan support and participation in strategic initiatives, continuous process improvements, process reviews, market rules changes
- Drives implementation of controls and processes to mitigate risks.
- Provide supervision, allocation, and organisation of work among team members to ensure efficiency and adequate leave coverage.
- Provide direction and guidance where necessary.
- Ensure all queries are addressed promptly and accurately.
- Ensure that all transactions are processed in accordance with bank rule, circulars, procedures, and local requirements.
- Provide relief support and other duties assigned and cross train on all functions performed with the team and across department.
- Participation in ad-hoc projects and User Acceptance Testing at the request of the BI Securities Operations team.
- To supervise, motivate and provide guidance for team members through the ongoing management of staff performance and related reviews.
- The escalation to Manager of matters which may present a financial or reputational risk, supported by current market practices, procedural evidence and supporting documentation.
- Provide impact analysis and root cause analysis for any Operational Risk Events that may arise.
- Liaison with BI Securities Operations team for all systems/event driven issues.
- Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline preferred.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Minimum 8 years of working experiences within a Securities Operations environment
- Experience in managing people.
- In-depth knowledge of global practices in relation to Corporate Actions.
- Familiarity with Milvus, IMActions (or other Corporate Actions software) and SWIFT standards.
