General Manager, Infrastructure & Major Projects The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, located in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide, is a vibrant and diverse community known for its cultural richness, strong community spirit, heritage, and cosmopolitan lifestyle. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager, Infrastructure & Major Projects is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure, including Asset Management and Capital Projects (buildings, streetscapes, reserves, and open spaces). This position will manage the Infrastructure & Major Projects Department, which comprises the City Assets & Projects Unit and the City Services Unit. This is an important leadership position within Council requiring internal collaboration and the provision of advice to the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Leadership Team, and Managers in respect to asset management, capital projects, and maintenance. This role includes developing and maintaining Asset Management Plans that are legislatively compliant, ensuring strong and robust project management practices are in place. An inspiring leader and mentor, the successful candidate must have tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in civil engineering, project management, landscape architecture, or a related field with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will be a genuine and effective leader, with a working knowledge of relevant legislation and strong financial acumen. Your significant leadership experience and excellent communication skills must be complemented by your comprehensive knowledge of project and asset management principles. You must demonstrate experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to executive teams, as well as motivating and empowering staff to strive for excellence and embrace continuous improvement. While a background in Local Government would be advantageous, it is not essential. #J-18808-Ljbffr
