Pricing Manager Ocean Freight

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic pricing plans to maximize profitability and minimize business loss across all ocean freight activities. Negotiate competitive rates with a minimum of three shipping lines for direct vessel, indirect vessel, spot rate, and non-spot rate shipments. Manage vessel details, including cutoffs, sailings, and origin charges, ensuring accurate and timely communication. Ensure all booking requests include required contract numbers and service details, adhering to shipping line regulations. Actively resolve issues related to booking discrepancies, hazardous cargo approval, Form 13 submissions, early gate closing, late SI filing, SSR requests, and bill of lading release. Maintain excellent DDP/DDU rates with overseas agents for Ex-works shipments, quoting inclusive of all charges collected from respective departments. Foster strong relationships with shipping lines specializing in agricultural, hazardous, non- hazardous, SOC, tank containers, and flexi bags. Target and secure maximum business from customers participating in bidding processes, demonstrating expertise in bid management. Develop proficiency in FMC and SAC code filing requirements for US shipments using our House Bill of Lading (HBL). Generate and analyze Management Information System (MIS) reports on a weekly and monthly basis, detailing business won and lost. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Proven experience in ocean freight pricing and operations, ideally within a similar role in the logistics industry. Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, documentation, and compliance requirements. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed pricing decisions. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for pricing analysis and MIS reporting. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
