We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Networks-Service Provider to join us! The ideal candidate is a highly experienced Senior Network Architect, having worked at a CTO or Head of level on complex carrier grade telecommunications architecture. This role can be based in any of our Blue Apache Office locations in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. Responsibilities
- Running the Network pillar - how we architect the network, productise it, and which suppliers we use
- Driving the strategy for the network platform, aligned to blueAPACHE's strategies for growth and global expansion
- Maintain the operational excellence of the emPOWER network and security infrastructure and management of all associated platforms to ensure smooth operations and enablement for delivery of services
- Maintain BAU operations
- Keep abreast of continual investments into technology, processes and development of automation capabilities that would enable features such as Zero Touch Provisioning, fault remediation and ensuring the network platform stays robust, scalable and adheres to industry-based quality and governance standards
- Drive the strategy for the network and security platforms
- Maintain current MPLS platform, network architecture and risk registers to identify strengths/weaknesses and keep the lights on
- Manage the existing Fortinet network security stack, lifecycle management, feature roadmaps, uptime
- Lead a network automation transformation for the business to improve efficiency, time to value for our clients and reduce risk
- Participate in pre-sales activities including timely provision of appropriate solutions to defined client opportunities
- Assess the impact upon the Service Provider platforms of enterprise level architecture and infrastructure initiatives, in consultation with the General Manager - Technology
- In consultation with the General Manager - Technology, be a trusted adviser on technology vendor and solution decisions to meet the business demand
- Be available and respond to major incidents both during and out of hours as required
- Tertiary Education such as Advanced Diploma; Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Information technology or equivalent industry experience is required
- CCIE certification or equivalent experience
- Fortinet Certified Professional or at least three Fortinet Certified Solutions Specialist certifications
- Must have extensive experience as a senior network architect/engineer within a service provider environment
- Has built and supported an MPLS network
- Has operated edge border routers with IP Transit and IP Peering connected fabrics
- Has extensive carrier experience working with technologies including IS-IS, BGP, Route-Reflection, L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, BGP, EVPN, LDP, Segment-Routing, port-aggregation
- In depth understanding of Fortinet network security fabrics
- Data centre hyperscale technology exposure
- NFV - Network function virtualisation
- A clear understanding of and demonstrated experience with virtualisation technologies (ideally VMware)
- A good understanding of network OSS and BSS tools (generally open source)
