As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the development and testing of mechanical systems and components. This includes participating in the design and prototyping of new products, as well as modifying existing systems for improved performance. Collaborating closely with engineering teams, you will contribute to the creation of detailed technical drawings and schematics using CAD software, facilitating the transformation of conceptual designs into practical, manufacturable products. You'll work in close collaboration with engineering teams to generate detailed technical drawings and schematics using CAD software, playing a key role in translating conceptual designs into practical, manufacturable products. As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you'll be pivotal in collaborating with engineers to create and refine mechanical systems and products. This involves conducting feasibility studies, analyzing design specifications, and contributing to material selection. In your role, you'll be hands-on, responsible for assembling, testing, and maintaining mechanical prototypes and equipment, ensuring they conform to quality standards and performance criteria.

Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems.
Developing and implementing mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.
Checking equipment and operating systems on a regular basis.
Ensuring machinery is at optimum performance.
Performing troubleshooting and tests on equipment or machinery.
Performing required repairs.
Installing preventative measures to avoid potential malfunctions.
Handling tools like power tools and rigging equipment.
Carrying out hot work such as welding and cutting.
Solving issues regarding motor, conveyor, and hydraulic equipment.
Operating equipment like forklifts.
Maintaining the workshop, warehouse, and tools area.
Assisting project engineers as requested.
Complying with company safety guidelines.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills

Effective communication and teamwork skills, enabling collaboration with engineers and colleagues to support the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems, as well as the documentation of procedures and results.
Well-versed in carrying out meticulous measurements and inspections using various tools and instruments, with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring product quality and adherence to specifications.
Experienced in hands-on activities, such as assembly, testing, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, assuring operational efficiency and dependability in a variety of industrial contexts.
Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, fostering productive teamwork with engineers and team members to enhance the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems, while also ensuring comprehensive documentation of procedures and outcomes.
Proficient in conducting meticulous measurements and inspections employing a range of tools and instruments, demonstrating a sharp eye for detail to guarantee product quality and alignment with specifications.
