Job Description

STRATEGIC
  1. Responsible for preparing bill of quantity, cost break-up, and cost proposals interpreting all requirements of customer at overall benefit to company.
  2. Responsible for performing a variety of cost engineering functions encompassing estimating, cost control, budget preparations, forecasting, and cost reporting.
  3. Responsible for developing & maintaining effective cost control systems and procedures for specific projects from project award to project completion.
  4. Responsible for allocation of Cost Codes.
OPERATIONAL
  1. To liaise with other members of the works team to produce estimates for planned works.
  2. To verify the inclusion of Fire and Health and Safety requirements while preparing the cost estimates.
  3. To handle the compilation of data for reporting purposes of individual project commercial performance on a monthly and quarterly basis including – Cost Forecasting; Anticipated Final Cost; Cost of Work Done; Updating Job Cost Report (JCR) and Performance Report Every Month and Preparation of Zero Cost Report (ZCR) at project Initial Stage.
  4. Advising on Procurement Strategy, Taking off Quantities from Drawings for Valuation and Procurement, Assisting in Gross Billing and Current Contract Value.
  5. Material reconciliation. Budget against actual.
  6. Monthly reconciliation for Bulk Materials, Cement & Steel.
  7. Preparation of monthly valuation for Client & fortnight Subcontractor Bills.
  8. Preparation of Rate Build-up for Site Instructions, Variations, and New Items.
  9. Preparation of P & L Report for Management.
  10. Preparation of Monthly Reconciliation for Concrete, Reinforcement & Bulk Materials.
  11. Preparation of Subcontractor Work Orders.
  12. Next Month Planning for Activity, P & M, Labour, and Materials.
  13. Submission of Final Account after Project Completion.
  14. Review orders/change orders to verify with quotation submitted.
  15. Preparation of Monthly Invoice.
  16. Certifying Sub-Contractors Bills.
  17. Verifying and approving Material Requisition per Bill of Quantity.
  18. Verifying/Certifying Manpower Supplier Bills.
  19. Assurance of Proper Manpower allocation at the site.
  20. Preparation of Job Cost Report.
  21. Preparation of “Certificate of Payment for Sub-contractors.”
  22. Preparation of Material Reconciliation Statement (Actual/Budgeted).
  23. Preparation of Labor Cost Report.
  24. Preparation of Material Requisition for finishing items.
  25. Preparation of Material Reconciliation Report.
  26. Preparation of Monthly working Progress Report.
  27. Verifying/Certifying Supplier’s Invoices.
  28. Submission of Final Account after project Completion.
  29. Preparation of P&L Report for Management.
  30. Preparation of Monthly Reconciliation for Concrete, Reinforcement & Bulk Materials.
  31. Preparation of Sub Contractor Work Orders.
  32. Subcontractors bill checking and Certification.
  33. Making Comparative Statement for Suppliers and Subcontractors.
  34. Updating Job Cost Report (JCR) and Performance Report every month.
  35. Preparation of Monthly Valuation for client and fortnight subcontractor’s bills.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Project Management with Civil Engineering and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of overall experience in Civil Engineering with a minimum of seven (7) years in a senior quantity surveying role. Must have knowledge of current market trends and situations, methods, practices, equipment, and supplies used in the building trades, laws and regulations relating to construction, and basic principles of program finances and budgeting. Comprehensive knowledge of Project Management procedures and practices. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, negotiation, and conflict management skills. Ability to supervise and direct assigned staff including monitoring and evaluating work performance, interviewing and hiring staff, conducting training and development, establishing work priorities, and scheduling job tasks. #J-18808-Ljbffr
