About the Role This is an outstanding opportunity for a suitably experienced professional within the Engineering team for the Iona Gas Plant – Lochard’s premiere gas storage and processing facility. Being a solution driven professional, you will take ownership of providing asset integrity through a combination of proactive and reactive technical solutions. You will be entrusted with overseeing comprehensive integrity management programs tailored to specific site conditions and operational requirements. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding Lochard Energy's assets, including pipelines, pressure vessels, and related equipment, through rigorous inspection protocols, risk assessments, and proactive maintenance strategies. Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain fixed equipment inspection strategies
- Manage the vessel and piping inspection program in accordance with AS3788
- Manage the tank inspection program to API 653
- Manage the pipeline inspection program in accordance with AS2885
- Manage the inspection of structures and non-pressure containing infrastructure to Australian standards
- Communicate the inspection strategy and program with plant engineers
- Assist Operations & Maintenance and Asset Management with operational integrity, compliance and reliability engineering support
- Identify and deliver asset performance and continuous improvement process initiatives
- Establish & maintain integrity engineering procedures & processes
- Provide technical guidance to the Integrity team to achieve consistency, including procedures, calculations, drawings, reports, specifications
- Manage inspections (Internal & External Piping Inspections; Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Piping Inspections; Internal & External Vessel Inspections; CUI Vessel Inspections)
- Maintain the risk based inspection program for both the piping and vessel inspections
- Perform external PSV Inspections
- Perform Fire System inspections such as hydrant and ring main valve inspections
- Own, maintain and improve the inspection programs and related documentation
- Advise with respect to inspection method improvements in support of Engineering and RBI teams quest for continuous improvement.
- Perform the Shutdown QA Role managing inspections during shutdowns
- Support Asset Engineer to maintain the Vessel and Piping registers
- A minimum of five years relevant experience with pressure equipment – design, operation, FFS and remaining life assessment.
- Thorough working knowledge of advanced defect tolerance and fitness for service assessment methods, as presented in API 579.
- Hold an AICIP (Australian Institute for the Certification of Inspection Personnel) Certificate of Competency In-Service Inspector, Pressure Equipment or;
- Hold CSWIP Plant Inspector Level 1 or;
- Hold API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection Code & API 570 Piping Inspection Code certification
- Ideally you will be registered as a Professional Engineer under the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 (the Act) via the Business Licensing Authority as a Mechanical Engineer or be willing to undertake registration
- The work location is situated at the Iona Gas Plant, Port Campbell, Victoria
- Reside within 60 minutes’ drive of the Iona Gas Plant, with some initial housing assistance provided
- Monday to Friday & any other times as may be reasonable and necessary to meet the work requirements
- It is anticipated that some weekend days may be worked in support of key operations
