Field Service Engineer - BMS

Position Summary: The BMS (Building Management System) Field Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of BMS systems integrated with HVAC systems at various customer sites. Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on BMS-controlled HVAC systems to ensure optimal functionality and energy efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve BMS-related issues affecting HVAC system performance, such as sensor malfunctions, programming errors, or system misconfigurations.
• Respond to emergency service requests and perform corrective actions to minimise downtime and client disruption.
• Perform system upgrades, software updates, and modifications to BMS and HVAC systems to enhance functionality and ensure compliance with the latest standards and technologies.
• Recommend and implement improvements to system configurations for energy efficiency, comfort, and system reliability.
• Install, configure, and commission BMS systems in coordination with HVAC equipment for new and retrofit projects.
• Programme, calibrate, and test system settings to ensure efficient system operation, balancing HVAC systems with BMS functionality.
• Work with clients and contractors to integrate BMS and HVAC systems to meet project specifications and client needs.
• Document all service activities, including repairs, installations, maintenance schedules, and system changes.
• Provide detailed reports to clients on system status, performance, and any recommended actions or upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service logs, inventory, and parts usage.
• Work closely with the project management team, HVAC technicians, and other engineers to ensure successful integration and operation of BMS and HVAC systems.
• Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and clients to coordinate project timelines, system installation, and service tasks.
• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations while performing site visits and service tasks.
• Ensure that installations, repairs, and maintenance are in compliance with local codes and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Relevant certifications in BMS (Building Management Systems) and HVAC systems (e.g., Johnson Controls, Trane, Honeywell) are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in BMS/HVAC system installation, service, and troubleshooting.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, BMS controls, and integration.
