About this Internship Opportunity eGov is involved in discussions with the Jharkhand State Government towards addressing multiple societal problems and governance challenges towards designing innovative tech enabled processes for effective governance and policies. Few examples of problem areas under deliberation are w.r.t. addressing human trafficking issues related to migrant workers, checking of drugs and narcotics in the state etc. eGov is looking at onboarding a Ranchi-based “ Governance and Technology Innovation Intern ” towards understanding these challenges, doing a landscape analysis and research and proposing a process optimization plan for effective addressing of these challenges. Role: Governance and Technology Innovation Intern Duration: 4-6 months Stipend: 25,000 per month (above are negotiable for candidates with relevant experience and background) Location: Ranchi Job Description Role Overview: As a Governance and Technology Innovation Intern, you will work closely with stakeholders from government and non-government agencies to address pressing societal challenges in Jharkhand. You will help define problem statements, do a sectoral analysis, analyze existing systems, and propose technology-driven solutions to enhance governance and policy effectiveness. Key focus areas include tackling human trafficking and addressing the challenges surrounding narcotics cultivation and consumption. Key Responsibilities: Understanding Context and Stakeholders:
- Engage with government officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders to gain insights into the challenges
- Doing field visits and interviews as and when required
- Build a thorough understanding of existing systems, policies, and processes.
- Clearly define problem statements and set actionable objectives.
- Identify key issues in areas such as human trafficking and narcotics control.
- Conduct a sectoral and root cause analysis, comprehensive analysis of stakeholders, systems, and policies.
- Map existing processes and identify gaps or inefficiencies.
- Gather qualitative and quantitative data through field visits, interviews, and desk research.
- Analyze patterns and trends to uncover root causes of societal challenges.
- Develop innovative, tech-driven solutions tailored to address identified problems.
- Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with governance priorities.
- Coordinate with internal teams to align on technology capabilities.
- Foster partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to problem-solving.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Document insights and outcomes for review by senior leadership.
- Design frameworks to measure the impact and success of proposed interventions.
- Educational Background: Educational background (preferably a post-graduation) in 1 or more of the following: Humanities & Liberal Arts, Public Policies, Social Sciences, Economics, Engineering, Management.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal (English, Hindi) and written skills (English) for stakeholder engagement and documentation.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to deconstruct complex problems into manageable components.
- Research Proficiency: Experience in conducting surveys, interviews, and literature reviews.
- Tech-Savviness: Familiarity with digital tools, platforms, and technologies applicable to governance.
- Adaptability: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, willingness to navigate dynamic and sometimes ambiguous situations.
- A detailed landscape analysis report identifying key challenges and opportunities.
- Clearly defined problem statements with actionable solutions.
- Strategic recommendations for implementing tech-driven governance interventions.
- Documentation of insights to inform policy and decision-making.
