As the Network & Data Centre Lead, you will have a deep passion for technology and a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing critical infrastructure. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing both IT and OT environments, ensuring seamless connectivity, maximum uptime, and robust security. As the lead, you will have a strategic vision for the future of AAL’s data centre and networking operations, will champion continuous improvement, and will lead a highly skilled in-house team. Key responsibilities include: Develop and drive a future-focused strategy for AAL’s networking and data centre operations. Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices, determining how they can support and enhance our IT transformation. Design scalable, high-availability network solutions to support complex IT and OT environments. Lead the deployment of next-generation network technologies to ensure optimal performance, availability and flexibility. Oversee the end-to-end operation of on-premises data centres, ensuring best-in-class performance and uptime. Champion a security-first mindset, ensuring all networking and data centre designs, processes, and platforms adhere to stringent security standards. Key requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, additional certifications CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent (CCIE preferred), data centre, cloud, or security are a plus. Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams. Experience managing budgets, setting strategic direction, and driving cultural change. Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in network engineering and data centre operations, including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, and WAN optimisation. Security Focus: Demonstrable track record of implementing security best practices (Zero Trust, segmentation, encryption) within network/data centre environments. Critical Infrastructure Know-How: Experience working in or supporting OT environments, with a strong understanding of reliability and safety considerations. Overall, you will need to be a self-motivated individual with the ability to build collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and decision makers.
