Responsibilities:

  1. Ensuring Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and lab inventory management.
  2. Assessing lab operations to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality of results.
  3. Carrying out lab tests and handling tests through VIDAS, VITEK equipment, and biochemical analysis.
  4. Maintaining knowledge of Quality and Laboratory ISO 17025 operations.
  5. Conducting Microbiology lab tests on food products using various methods, including advanced test methods (VIDAS, TEMPO, VITEK, PCR, etc.).
  6. Reviewing, maintaining, and developing procedures and SOPs for lab testing, calibrations, and equipment maintenance.
  7. Ensuring all lab tests, environmental tests, and internal calibrations are conducted per the testing plan while maintaining records.
  8. Conducting training on GLP, lab testing, and calibration, verifying accuracy and effectiveness.
  9. Coordinating external lab tests and calibrations as per the plan.
  10. Handling proficiency tests and coordinating sample arrangements per the test plan.
  11. Developing and optimizing analytical methods to increase lab efficiency.
  12. Conducting monthly lab inventory to ensure all test materials, equipment, and consumables are available for uninterrupted lab testing.
  13. Conducting shelf-life studies and reviewing results to define accurate product shelf-life.
  14. Reviewing, maintaining, and writing all procedures for lab analytical testing and equipment maintenance.
  15. Managing ISO 17025 audits and having experience in BRC, ISO 22000, etc.
Skills:
  1. Academic and Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Microbiology, specializing in Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, or Laboratory Techniques.
  • Strong hands-on skills in conducting Microbiology lab tests on food products using various methods, including advanced test methods (VIDAS, TEMPO, VITEK, PCR, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience in ISO 17025 and BAM-FDA methods, performing all manual and automated operations on various materials.
  • Strong knowledge of physiological and morphological characteristics for identifying microorganisms.
  • Experience in lab management, GLP, ISO 17025, HACCP, and food safety and quality systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance in the food industry.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A great team player, flexible to changes.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills within and outside the organization.
Experience:
  • 3 years or more of experience in Microbiology Lab operations and lab tests.
  • Excellent knowledge of media preparation, sample preparation, manual culture, ELISA and ELFA, VIDAS, VITEK equipment, biochemical analysis, stains, and weighing equipment.
