The Government Affairs Sr. Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing policy and government affairs objectives in a wide range of priorities, including healthcare reform, pricing and reimbursement, trade and intellectual property protection, and therapeutic area policy. The position will be an integral part of the Government Affairs team and will collaborate with government entities and policy organizations in the Gulf region. We address policy, legislative, and regulatory issues that help create a better and healthier every day for every woman.
Responsibilities
Policy
This role will monitor and analyze political and legislative developments in the Gulf countries, including government policies, assessing possible impacts on Organon’s business in the Gulf markets, and address emerging issues proactively and strategically. Collaborate with country colleagues to identify government affairs priorities and develop an implementable strategy for the region. Implement and support policy projects in the Gulf markets in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including digital policy advocacy campaigns, development of policy positions, and policy messaging. Maintain a deep understanding of current and anticipated future policy trends through engagement with think tanks and relevant bodies. Drive policy strategies and plans that address health-specific challenges. Policy crisis management and proactive risk identification and mitigation. Represent our company in a variety of settings including with institutions, professional organizations, and public health organizations in the Gulf.Stakeholder Engagement
Trade association empowerment and engagement. Drive industry agenda through trade associations to help implement strategies and reach key objectives. Build strategic relationships with key influencers and other decision-makers who influence governmental policies, including government officials. Partner with internal stakeholders like medical, marketing, market access, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, and business support to help realize Organon’s objectives.Advocacy
Implement advocacy plans to seize opportunities and minimize threats that have a major impact on our company’s business. Proactively develop and provide alternative solutions and preferred approaches to policy challenges.Strategic and Commercial Support
Deliver strategic initiatives that may flow from evolving leadership priorities and internal and external influences. Collaborate with relevant business areas to implement cross-functional strategies in support of the annual business plan. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Must be a self-starter with a proactive mindset, effectively identifying priorities and managing deliverables. Excellent project management skills and organizational skills. Carrying out this role requires ongoing interaction and strong collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders. Customer-centric focus on customer care experience. Strong analytical and technical skills. Minimum 5 years of experience addressing public policy issues related to pharmaceuticals and/or a related area of healthcare (market access, etc.) Proven track record of success in managing high-level stakeholders. Experience with and knowledge of government and non-governmental organizations active on public policy issues required. Strong knowledge of the healthcare public policy process in Gulf countries, including understanding the roles and influence of various stakeholders. Knowledge of the access and reimbursement environment. The candidate needs to be located either in UAE or Kuwait; there is no relocation for this role.Who We Are:
