Job Title : Head of Engineering – Healthcare Analytics Platform Location : Mumbai, Pune About Us We are a dynamic, technology-driven organization focused on transforming the healthcare analytics landscape. Our platform leverages Databricks on Azure and AWS, utilizing cloud-native services to power data-driven insights and decision-making. Serving both payers and providers in the US healthcare market, our solutions support HEDIS, Value-Based Care, Risk, and Utilization measures as prescribed by CMS and NCQA. Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Head of Engineering to lead our healthcare analytics platform. This role requires a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in building and managing scalable, secure, and reliable analytics platforms, emphasizing platform stability, quality, and reliability engineering. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Generative AI and AI/ML, healthcare analytics, data engineering, and a proven track record of managing distributed teams and cloud partnerships to deliver best-in-class solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Platform Leadership :
- Own the end-to-end technical roadmap and architecture of the analytics platform, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and scalability requirements.
- Oversee the development of analytics solutions on Databricks using Azure and AWS, utilizing Power BI for reporting.
- Drive platform innovation, introducing cutting-edge technologies such as Generative AI and AI/ML models to enhance platform intelligence and automation.
- AI & Data Engineering Expertise :
- Lead the integration of Generative AI and machine learning models to create advanced analytics, predictive insights, and automation capabilities.
- Ensure strong data engineering practices, building a robust data pipeline that powers reliable, high-quality healthcare data and insights.
- Oversee data management frameworks, emphasizing security, privacy, and regulatory compliance within the healthcare domain.
- Team & Cloud Provider Management :
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse, distributed team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture.
- Collaborate with cloud service providers (Azure, AWS) and industry-leading tool providers to leverage best-in-class services, solutions, and innovations.
- Manage relationships with cloud and technology partners, ensuring that the platform benefits from the latest advancements and optimized cost models.
- Healthcare Analytics Expertise :
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and requirements, especially around HEDIS, Value-Based Care, CMS, and NCQA guidelines.
- Provide expertise in the unique needs of payers and providers, tailoring platform solutions to meet these distinct requirements.
- Work closely with product management to develop features that address key healthcare metrics like risk and utilization measures.
- Platform Quality and Reliability :
- Develop and enforce quality standards, reliability engineering practices, and stability metrics to ensure a dependable and robust platform.
- Champion initiatives for platform performance, reliability, security, and data integrity, including SLAs and incident response processes.
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting frameworks to proactively manage platform health and minimize downtime.
- Strategic and Technical Vision :
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, analytics, healthcare IT, Generative AI, and AI/ML to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology strategies aligned with business and customer needs.
- Define and manage the technical roadmap, balancing short-term wins with long-term goals to build applications for the future of healthcare.
- Experience :
- 15+ years of engineering experience, with 8+ years in a leadership role, preferably in the healthcare analytics domain.
- Proven track record of building scalable analytics platforms and products using cloud-native services on Azure and AWS.
- Experience with Databricks, Power BI, and other modern data engineering and reporting tools.
- Technical Expertise :
- Strong understanding of HEDIS, Value-Based Care, CMS, and NCQA guidelines, and experience with healthcare data models.
- Proficiency in AI/ML, with practical knowledge of Generative AI and the ability to leverage these technologies to improve analytics and automation.
- Expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
- Extensive experience with data engineering practices, platform stability, reliability engineering, and quality control practices.
- Cloud and Partner Management :
- Demonstrated experience managing cloud service providers (Azure, AWS) and a proven ability to negotiate and work with technology partners to bring the best solutions and practices to the platform.
- Ability to assess and implement best-in-class solutions from the cloud and tools ecosystem, optimizing for cost, quality, and performance.
- Leadership Skills :
- Demonstrated ability to lead distributed engineering teams and manage complex engineering initiatives.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality, scalability, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
- Preferred :
- Previous experience working in US healthcare and understanding of payer and provider requirements.
- Proven ability to drive change and bring cutting-edge technology solutions to complex business challenges.
