Role Description: This is a **full-time, on-site** role for an **IoT Engineer** at Akvosphere in Chennai. The IoT Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing IoT solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of water purification and atmospheric water generation systems. The role will involve working with embedded systems, cloud platforms, and networking protocols to enable real-time monitoring, data collection, and analytics for Akvosphere’s products. Key Responsibilities: 1. System Design and Development - Architect, develop, and implement IoT-enabled solutions for water generation and purification. - Design embedded systems for real-time monitoring and automation. 2. Hardware and Sensor Integration - Work with microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, ESP32) and integrate with various sensors. - Implement power management solutions for IoT devices to enhance efficiency. 3. Software Development - Develop and maintain firmware and software applications for IoT-enabled devices. - Implement edge computing techniques to optimize device performance. 4. Networking and Communication Protocols - Configure and deploy IoT communication protocols such as MQTT, Zigbee, BLE, and LoRa. - Ensure seamless data transmission between IoT devices and cloud platforms. 5. Data Handling and Processing - Collect, analyze, and process sensor data for actionable insights. - Implement cloud storage and data management solutions (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT). 6. Testing and Maintenance - Conduct system testing, debugging, and performance optimization. - Provide ongoing maintenance and support for deployed IoT solutions. 7. Security Implementation - Ensure robust cybersecurity measures for IoT devices and communication networks. - Implement encryption and authentication protocols to secure data transmission. 8. Collaboration and Documentation - Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including R&D, software developers, and product managers. - Maintain clear documentation for system designs, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures. Skills & Qualifications: Technical Skills: 1. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or Node.js. 2. Strong knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, ESP32). 3. Experience with IoT communication protocols like MQTT, Zigbee, BLE, and LoRa. 4. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS IoT, Azure IoT, and Google Cloud IoT. 5. Understanding of data analytics, machine learning, and real-time data processing. 6. Expertise in network design and cybersecurity best practices for IoT applications. 7. Hands-on experience with power management solutions for IoT devices. 8. Experience in PCB design and implementation. Soft Skills: - Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. - Ability to work in a collaborative team environment. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. Educational Requirements: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Relevant experience in developing IoT solutions for environmental or industrial applications is a plus.
