Senior Mechanical Engineer (Chemical Process Plant)

Working Location: Jurong Island Working Hours: Weekdays, 8am to 430pm Transport from Jurong East MRT Basic Salary: $5000 - $6500 About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior / Mechanical Engineer to oversee and manage all mechanical maintenance activities within our chemical process plant. In this role, you will lead maintenance operations, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvements in equipment reliability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise in-house teams and external contractors in executing all aspects of mechanical maintenance, including: Preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime Transition and turnaround maintenance to ensure seamless operations Upgrades and improvements for enhanced plant efficiency Ensure all maintenance activities comply with HSEQ standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices . Develop comprehensive maintenance scopes, job specifications, resource plans, and timelines for turnaround projects. Plan and execute corrective actions and repair strategies for breakdown maintenance. Monitor and coordinate repair activities, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to protocols. Continuously enhance and implement an effective Maintenance Management System (MMS) to optimize equipment reliability and availability. Maintain accurate maintenance records to support data analysis and troubleshooting . Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and eliminate defects, implementing corrective and preventive measures. Optimize inventory levels for critical and non-critical mechanical spare parts. Qualifications & Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Proven expertise in static and rotating equipment maintenance. Hands-on experience in mechanical repair and troubleshooting. Minimum 3 years of experience in a Chemical Process Plant environment. Proficiency in SAP PM, MS Project, or other project/task management tools . Key Competencies Strong aptitude and passion for chemical plant maintenance .
