Job Description In addition to performing routine haematology and coagulation laboratory tests on patient samples in a clinical haematology laboratory, you will also perform laboratory tests for red cell disorders using specialized equipment for diagnostic purposes. Your duties will include working with routine operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation. You will also carry out specialized test procedures related to red cells or red cell disorders such as haemoglobinopathy and red cell membrane disorders. You may also have opportunities to participate in the validation of new diagnostic assays related to red cells. Relevant training will be provided if necessary. Other responsibilities may include technical equipment validation, quality assurance and inventory management in compliance with our organization’s technical and safety guidelines. Job Requirements: Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or its equivalent. Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or any other equivalent qualification may be considered for the position of Junior Medical Technologist. Prior knowledge and interest in practical aspects of haemoglobinopathy or other red cell disorders will be an advantage. Able to work independently as well as in a team in a fast-paced environment. Good team player with strong communication skills. Required to work 3 rotating shifts, including staggered and extended working hours, coverage after hours, weekends and public holidays to meet hospital needs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
