Role Location: Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain Department: Operations Employment Type: Full Time The Role & Key Responsibilities: The Fund Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the portfolio allocated and will strive to be a one point contact to the Investment Manager(s) and investors of the funds. Job role will include but is not limited to the below mentioned items:
- Monitor cash activity of the funds in your portfolio and prepare broker/cash reconciliations on a periodic basis.
- Liaise with prime brokers and Investment Managers to resolve cash breaks.
- Monitor portfolio positions on a periodic basis and alert your manager or Investment Manager on any break.
- Process corporate actions to reconcile cash accounts and positions.
- Independently price the Investment positions on a monthly, weekly, quarterly, annually, or daily basis.
- Ensure reporting deliverables are produced to a high standard and delivered in a timely manner.
- Ensure reporting deliverables are produced in line with the appropriate accounting standards, fund documentation, local regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare Net Asset Valuation for the funds on a monthly, weekly, quarterly, annually, or daily basis as required by the Investment Managers.
- Process subscription and redemption activities in a timely manner.
- Coordinate documentations for capital activities to ensure AML compliance.
- Build excellent working relationships with clients.
- Ensure all work undertaken complies with the client’s documentation, relevant regulatory requirements, and anti-money laundering regulations.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure timely completion of audits.
- Follow Company procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with other managers in the office to ensure the timely completion of deliverables.
- Provide cover to other teams if required.
- Satisfaction and retention of clients falling under your portfolio.
- Timeliness and accuracy of the work falling under your responsibility.
- NAV accuracy falling under your responsibility.
- Internal controls and monitoring of the SSAE18 projects.
- Punctuality and work ethics.
- Academic background with desirable qualifications/certifications in Accounting / Finance.
- 1-2 years experience in a similar role incorporating the above functions.
