Job Responsibilities Personnel Management Follow orders and advice instructed by Chef de Partie and Sous Chefs to perform job tasks following directions. Adapt to business needs and be willing to work any day of the week and any shift. Remain focused and complete one task before switching to the next one. Follow the work list assigned by Chef de Partie, completing tasks within an acceptable time frame. Attend and participate in company training, embracing learning opportunities with a positive attitude and adhering to company philosophy. Work calmly and efficiently while promoting good working relations in the culinary/pastry/bakery department. Demonstrate a positive attitude and take pride in one's work, reflected in the products produced for our guests. Adhere to company policies and statutory requirements regarding health and safety, sanitation, and fire procedures. Report maintenance defects to culinary management using the correct procedures. Maintain high grooming standards for oneself and subordinates, ensuring good customer relations are upheld, especially in public areas of the hotel. Report to work on time as per culinary department schedules and report any sickness or absence using the correct procedures. Kitchen / Food Monitor food production to ensure compliance with prescribed recipes and specifications, adhering to food presentation, production, and portioning controls. Ensure the quality of food items according to established standards, including maintaining perfect sanitary conditions and applying First In First Out (FIFO) kitchen best practices. Store all food products properly in their appropriate fridges and storage containers throughout the shift. Maintain high cleanliness and sanitation standards in all culinary work areas, ensuring all colleagues clean their stations after every service. Ensure safe and proper use of equipment at all times and instruct culinary colleagues accordingly. Job Requirements Education & Certification Degree/Diploma and Certification in Patisserie or Bakery. Experience 1-3 years of experience as a pastry or bakery professional. Competencies Able to identify different kinds and categories of raw materials. Can differentiate between various types of cuisines. Basic cooking and sanitary knowledge. Monitoring of basic cooking preparation techniques and utilization of knives. Well-groomed, professional appearance. Willing and able to work shift work.
