That purpose is to transform the power system to enable our society to reduce our carbon emissions and meet our climate change and net zero ambitions.Be part of the transformation!The OpportunityWe are now seeking a Head of Programme Delivery and Service Transition to join the Chief Transformation & Technology Office.The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Strategic Programme Delivery and be a member of EirGrid's extended leadership team.As Head of Programme Delivery and Service Transition, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of the projects within the Strategic Delivery portfolio. This includes managing a portfolio of initiatives, ensuring they are appropriately scoped, adequately resourced, completed on time and within budget.You will deliver the benefits from the business investment in the capability uplifts needed to achieve EirGrid and SONI strategic goals and execute the portfolio technology delivery process to respond to changing business priorities.We will look to you to ensure technology solutions are developed, configured and tested in line with the standards set out by the Chief Transformation & Technology Officer - ensuring solutions are appropriately secure, resilient, available and scalable. In addition, you will ensure a well-planned, efficient and quality transition of the project or product or service which has been developed, to the final business owner.As part of your role, you will lead a team of project managers, development teams, test teams, transition teams, subject matter experts, and collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to align Strategic Delivery projects with EirGrid and SONI strategic and business objectives.The TeamThe Chief Transformation and Technology Office (CTTO) is to vision, lead, transform, digitise, deliver and support the transformational programme to deliver the power system and market to 2030 and beyond maximising the integration of renewables in a sustainable way at an affordable cost taking on board the voices of all aspects of our society. With an ultimate target of having a decarbonised power system in advance of 2050.The Programme Delivery and Service Transition is a customer centric team serving the business functions of EirGrid and SONI. The team is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of the projects within the Strategic Delivery portfolio and ensure all projects within the portfolio meet their objectives, deliverables, timelines, are within budget, meet quality standards and realise their expected benefits.About youSuccessful candidates will have:Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field - Information Technology or a related field (MBA preferred).Expertise in planning and executing complex IT programmes - ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and apply rigour and discipline to the processes of project management and delivery.Outstanding leadership capability and the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.Delivery focused, outstanding organisation and planning skills, methodical and service oriented.Ability to translate complex issues for executive leadership and influence stakeholders at all levels.Strong financial acumen including managing budgets, funding requirements, and financial management.Outstanding relationship builder and collaborator, capable of fostering productive and mutually challenging work relationships through shared goals and open dialogue.Ability to adapt quickly to new situations, respond positively to setbacks and be comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity.Significant leadership experience of deploying third party services and in managing strategic and mutually beneficial partnerships.Change oriented and able to effectively challenge the status quo, while bringing stakeholders and team members on the change journey.Familiar with power system operations, and energy market dynamics.Experience working in government, public sector, or regulated industries is advantageous.Strong analytical skills to align programs with organizational goals and government priorities.Closing date for applications: 14th February 2025EirGrid is an Equal Opportunities Employer
