THE ROLE: Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales Job Summary: The Solutions Architect supports the sales team by providing technical expertise, demonstrations, and solution presentations to potential customers. Their ability to understand customer requirements and propose tailored solutions drives successful presales engagements. Reporting into the Vice President – Services, the role plays a key role in building customer confidence, addressing technical concerns, and winning sales opportunities. Job Responsibilities:
- Works sales pursuits with the sales team, prioritising effort based on maximising total impact on team productivity and opportunity profit.
- Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimise value for both the customer and the company.
- Collaborates closely with Sales, Pre-Sales and Delivery resources to align solution design with customers’ business or technical requirements.
- Secures from customer the commitment needed to ensure a deal is “technically closed.”
- Meets assigned targets for profitable sales growth in assigned product/solution lines or teams supported.
- Provides coaching and technical insight development to Sales team-members in order to enhance their solution knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.
- Opportunistically pursues additional business development opportunities within Presidio customers. Collaborate with Sales to ensure these opportunities are effectively covered and advanced.
- Monitors customer support for technical solutions proposed throughout the sales process and alerts the Sales teams to potential risks of deal closure.
- Attend partner and/or vendor presentations and be a leader in their chosen field and bring this knowledge in summary format to the rest of the Services team.
- Inform the team of any new or emerging developments in their chosen field of expertise.
- Ensuring solutions stated in the Statement of Work (SOW) are best practice and in line with customer requirements.
- Keeping abreast of market trends and solution, product and competitor landscapes.
- Expert experience in networking architecture, storage and server solutions
- Solid understanding of Cloud technologies – certifications advantageous
- Solid understanding of networking and understanding of infrastructure and best practices.
- Foundational knowledge of DevOps/Automation with Workflow Integrations
- Solid interpersonal and presentation skills including client-facing consulting skills.
- Sales bid process experience and history of responding to RFI’s & RFP’s.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Enjoys working under pressure and to deadlines.
- Effective decision-maker with strong critical thinking skills, capable of making decisions in ambiguity and assessing their implications.
- Ability and desire to learn new technologies.
- 2+ years of consulting or pre-sales experience is preferable
- 8+ years of experience in a similar Architect-type role
- Experience in customer facing roles essential
- Cisco and/or Juniper, Check Point technology certifications advantageous
