HSBC Saudi Arabia provides investment banking services to the full spectrum of corporate and institutional clients in both the private and government sectors, including public companies; private companies and establishments; funds; government agencies; and family businesses and offices. Role Purpose: The role holder is leading and managing the IT Infrastructure Delivery team. Controls the overall Technology Operations strategy of the HSBC SA and provides ongoing support for Distribution system & data processing services including computing platforms, storage, middleware (database, web servers, application servers, and content management systems). Manage the SLA with SAB STS for Data Centre & architecture, Network & Telecommunication and Automation to ensure that they meet the business requirements of 24*7 availability, cost effectiveness & quality and comply with Group's standards and audit recommendations. Manages and controls HSBC SA efficient operations of the Disaster Recovery /Back-up Data Center with the support of SAB STS. Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas: Impact on the Business

  1. Ensure running and availability of all IT systems of the Bank.
  2. Contributes significantly to the success of STS through providing necessary infrastructure for the development and implementation of new systems.
  3. Ensuring 24x7 availability of network & telecommunications, hardware through Distribution services, computing platforms, storage, middleware (relational database, web servers, application servers, and content management systems), Data Centre & Data Architecture as per the SLA and PLA agreement with SABB STS.
  4. Provide on-going support to all live systems and management of the Backup DC thereby ensuring operational continuity of these systems to end users.
  5. The IT Operations department is further responsible for providing 24*7 support to the internal customers or end users of the systems within the Bank through the provision of an efficient Help Desk which monitors & logs all queries received to take prompt and appropriate action within the defined PLAs.
  6. Ensure Technology Infrastructure and operations including all key controls and risks are managed with no business impact.
Customers / Stakeholders
  1. Provide key inputs and decisions around the IT strategy of the organization from infrastructure perspective.
  2. Interacts on a continuous basis with various Business/Functional Heads to understand their IT-specific requirements and needs. Consequently, the jobholder interacts with other department heads within STS to translate the Business needs into IT-specific requirements and create a plan of action for the projects. Support employees for related development and training.
  3. Interacts with external vendors from a vendor-relationship building point of view, resolve any escalated issues or queries and handle key contract-negotiations.
  4. Keep up to date with industry trends.
  5. Interacts on a frequent basis with other functions within HSBC SA including Brokerage & CRE during the planning & development stage of new Investment Centers and with Operations for any infrastructure related support.
  6. Externally, liaises on a regular basis with his regional and global counterparts in the Group (SABB ITO, Regional ITID at HBME and Group Head of ITID) from a management reporting point of view to provide updates & feedback, discuss new features or technologies etc.

  3. Set expectations, share best practice and manage, monitor, coach and develop team leaders and others to ensure that they maximise their performance, meet the required standards, and continuously develop their capabilities and experience.
  4. Lead and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and challenging actions and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.
  5. Externally, liaises on a regular basis with his regional and global counterparts in the Group (SABB ITO, Regional CTO Infra Head for MENAT) from a management reporting point of view to provide updates & feedback, discuss new features or technologies etc.
Experience / Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent required.
  2. Master’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent preferred.
  3. 8 - 14 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a similar role.
  4. Prior experience in the banking sector within the region with a strong focus on all aspects of Information Technology Development is preferred.
