Quantity Surveyor

Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with 5 years of expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, including cost estimation, budgeting, contract administration, and cost control. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Job is based in Al Qassim. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Measure and quantify materials, labor, and other project costs from drawings, specifications, and site visits.
• Prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQ) for tender purposes, ensuring accuracy and consistency in unit rates and descriptions.
• Review and analyze project contracts, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements.
• Monitor and control project costs, identifying cost overruns and recommending corrective actions.
• Advise on cost-effective construction methods, materials, and design options to maximize value without compromising quality.
• Evaluate and assess subcontractor and supplier quotes, providing recommendations for selection based on cost and value considerations.
• Prepare and manage cost reports, including forecasts, budget updates, and final cost estimates.
• Assist in the negotiation and preparation of contracts and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage variations and change orders, ensuring accurate documentation and proper approval processes.
• Provide regular financial updates to project managers and senior management, highlighting key cost trends and potential issues.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure work is completed in line with project specifications, and verify quantities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
• Assist in the preparation of final accounts, including the reconciliation of costs and ensuring proper documentation for project closure.
• Resolve disputes and claims related to project costs and contractual matters.

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in the construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, cost estimation, and contract management.
• Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., CostX, WinQS, or similar).
• Excellent understanding of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT) and project specifications.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Attention to detail, with the ability to spot discrepancies and ensure accuracy in cost reporting.
• Familiarity with industry regulations, construction laws, and building codes.

• Chartered status (e.g., MRICS) or in the process of obtaining chartered status is a plus.
• Experience in managing cost control and reporting for large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and its application in quantity surveying.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and cost management for green building projects.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
