Procurement Lead – Oil & Gas A leading oil & gas operating company is looking to recruit a Procurement Lead to be responsible for management of the procurement team and high value technically complex agreements. Coordinates and controls the sourcing, purchasing, inventory control and logistics in support of the company. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Services, this job is based in Dubai. Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement team by mentoring and offering assistance and providing technical/commercial advice and direction to procurement group to assist them in carrying out their work activities.
- Develop various standard contracts, policies and procedures for procurement functions and strategies that will ensure maximum benefit and added value to the company.
- Guide the user departments for compliance with approved sourcing guidelines, Delegation of Authority Matrix, policies and procedures and local business engagement and ethics rules.
- Consolidation of purchase methods/strategies to avoid repetition and ensure that purchases are carried out in the most efficient and effective manner – price agreements, consolidation of purchases and buy house strategy. Provide strategy and be able to execute strategies successfully.
- Ensure the uninterrupted supply of materials, equipment, and services to operations, in coordination with offshore logistics personnel and ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.
- Resolve disputes arising with suppliers concerning quality, price or delivery problems and handle claims and counterclaims as they arise. Conduct all commercial transactions on the highest ethical standards and in accordance with good business practice and knowledge of commercial law.
- Manage expediting activities to ensure buyers are following up on all purchases and ensure supplier is able to maintain agreed delivery schedule.
- Relevant degree; Technical, Business, Supply Chain Management or certification in Materials & Service Management.
- 10+ years purchasing experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Extensive experience handling high value complex procurement agreements.
- Capable to execute strategies i.e. buy, house and consolidation of purchases and development of price agreements.
- Good understanding of procurement strategies to maximize efficiencies in purchasing.
- Strong manager with a “Can Do” attitude and capable to drive change.
- Firm negotiator with an excellent knowledge of Suppliers market.
- Team management skills; manage a team of buyers to support onshore and offshore operations.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communication.
- Computer literate, working knowledge of Microsoft office packages essential, highly proficient in Oracle.
