The Business Management & PMO team is responsible for the group's ongoing planning, administrative, and organisational development activities. This includes management of the technology budget, headcount planning, vendor management, senior management reporting, leading culture and communications initiatives, as well as providing ongoing support to the Senior Leadership team. This position will support and partner with our CTO Business. The IT Project Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. In this role, you are required to have a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function. The Chief Technology Officer guides Citi's enterprise-wide technology strategy and ensures that Citi's resources, capabilities, and infrastructure are aligned to that strategy. The CTO's work creates a competitive advantage for the company, with improved speed to market in a client-focused environment. The CTO is responsible for defining and executing core architecture and technology strategy and works across the primary businesses (Markets, Treasury and Trade Services, Private Bank, and Shared Services) to ensure complete strategic alignment and efficiency of execution across a diverse portfolio of engineering activities, including external Cloud Capability development, Platform Architectures, and Data Engineering. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all technology components of the development and implementation of major/multiple/highly complex projects; may manage enterprise-wide projects.
- Develops detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Provides IT strategic direction for projects managed.
- Sets guidelines for appropriate staffing requirements to meet operational needs.
- Impacts the IT project leadership function by strategic influence and by exercising control over resources, budget management, and planning, accountable for end results.
- Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations, and other personnel actions.
- Applies in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.
- Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how IT project leadership integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
- Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations; draws on a diverse range of internal and external sources.
- Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
- 10+ years’ experience in a related technology role with commensurate people management experience.
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially a Master's degree.
