Job Description

Production Management: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the manufacturing process, including the production of food packaging products from carton and paper materials. Ensure production schedules are met, while maintaining product quality and minimizing downtime. Supervise the operation of machinery and equipment used in the production of cartons and paper packaging. Monitor production processes to identify and resolve inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or quality issues. Implement and maintain production workflows to optimize output and reduce waste.
Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure all packaging products meet food safety standards and comply with industry regulations, including quality assurance and food safety requirements. Establish and enforce quality control procedures for carton and paper packaging production. Conduct regular inspections of products and processes to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications. Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to conduct regular audits and tests.
Team Leadership and Staff Management: Supervise and develop a team of production workers, machine operators, and support staff. Provide training and coaching to ensure that all staff members are skilled in proper manufacturing techniques and safety procedures. Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, safety, and productivity. Conduct performance reviews and implement continuous improvement strategies for the team.
Cost Control and Budget Management: Develop and manage the operational budget for the manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing costs. Monitor and control costs related to materials, labor, and overheads. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or safety standards.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials (paper, cardboard, etc.) and finished products to ensure sufficient supply and avoid production delays. Coordinate with the procurement team to source materials at competitive prices and maintain supply chain efficiency. Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality materials.
Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to workplace safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary. Monitor and enforce environmental policies regarding waste disposal, recycling, and energy use in the manufacturing process.
Process Improvement and Reporting: Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes, implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and safety, and report progress to senior management. Develop and implement strategies for capacity expansion and process optimization.
Customer Interaction and Product Development: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to understand customer needs and adjust production accordingly. Provide insights into new product development and assist with the creation of new packaging designs in line with customer specifications. Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining consistent product quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in operations management, Industrial Engineering, Packaging Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in operations management, ideally within the packaging industry, with a focus on carton and paper products.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards in packaging.
Experience with production machinery and equipment used in carton and paper packaging manufacturing.
