Job Description

We are constantly growing and are currently looking for QC Engineer (Painting & Coating) to join a top qualified and knowledgeable quality controls team in one of our projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Assists in the preparation of quality documentation, including the Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and in the review of construction documents for compliance with project quality requirements related to Painting & Coating works.
Monitors all phases and processes required for the effective completion of all related Painting & Coating works and in particular issues of design, procurement, construction, and final handover of the related Painting & Coating works.
Monitors the implementation of Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans related to Painting & Coating works, and ensures all necessary records are generated in a timely manner in their area of assigned responsibility.
Manages the inspection and testing of Painting & Coating works in their area of assigned responsibilities, including monitoring the work of QC Inspectors under their authority.
Monitors the closeout of punch lists established for incomplete related to Painting & Coating works.
Monitors all measurement & testing instruments employed for Mechanical works, ensuring they are functional and calibrated.
Liaises and coordinates with 3rd Party Testing/Inspection Company as required related to Painting & Coating works.
Conducts statistical analysis and evaluation of test data related to Painting & Coating works.
Prepares, files, and maintains test/inspection records and any other quality records generated related to Painting & Coating works.
Assists construction personnel to identify and resolve problems and potential or actual non-conformances related to Painting & Coating works.
Advises the QC Manager of non-conformance occurrences and where necessary, raises a Non-conformance Report for non-compliant work, and monitors the closeout and effectiveness of the correction and corrective action undertaken.
Where required, assists the QC Manager in undertaking periodic audits, including those of sub-contractors and suppliers, particularly technical compliance audits in their field of specialization.
Where required, assists in the preparation of final documents for certification.
Assists in the systems commissioning as required.

What you will need to have:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
15 years of experience (ADNOC experience will be an advantage)
Knowledgeable in surface preparation and painting of various materials, use of blasting equipment, and painting instruments. Hands-on in the inspection of surface preparation, blasting, painting, coating, fireproofing, and insulation activities. Familiar with the review and approval of product certificates – garnets and paints. Adept in the qualification of paint systems and applicator qualifications. Shall be familiar with various pipeline coating systems and the methods for inspection and certification including holiday testing, salt contamination, DFT, WFT. Shall be well experienced in the preparation, review, and approval of ITP, Method statements, and Procedures. Conversant with International Codes and Standards, SHELL DEP, ADNOC specifications.
Shall be familiar with repair methods for painting and coating including their pre-qualification process.

You are someone who:

Is able to work both independently, exercising professional judgment and coordination skills.
Has excellent organizational skills.
Has EPC project experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
