GEMS WELLINGTON ACADEMY - AL KHAIL Dubai, UAE Posted 2 days ago Expires in a month Ref: JB5220818 We are looking for an outstanding Head of Learning and Teaching to join our team at GEMS Wellington Academy, Al Khail from September 2025. As a cognitive science driven school, evidence-informed practice is at the heart of what we do, and we seek educators who can passionately articulate what outstanding learning and teaching looks like and translate this into practice in the classroom. GCSE and A-Level results far exceeding UK national averages
Very Good rating from the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership in all aspects of learning, teaching, and educational technology.
Develop and embed innovative pedagogical approaches to inspire all students and raise standards, including for SEND, Gifted and Talented, and Emirati students.
Monitor learning and teaching to accelerate student performance.
Develop and deliver a professional development program tailored to staff needs and whole school development.
Ensure effective performance management for teaching staff, including quality assurance and mentoring opportunities.
Promote Positive Education to ensure students contribute effectively to the learning process.
Lead the strategic integration of technology to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
Support the school’s leadership team in planning and delivering professional development.
Play a key role in school self-evaluation and contribute to the consultative and decision-making processes.

Person Specification:

Qualified Teacher Status and an honors degree or post-graduate qualification.
Evidence of ongoing personal professional development and experience in developing others through mentoring or coaching.
At least 3 years of middle/senior leadership experience with a curriculum or learning and teaching element.
Experience in leading quality assurance and improvement processes, curriculum innovation, and change.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage professional relationships effectively.
