Quality Assurance Officer

Sun Health Foods established in 1980 and based in Moorabbin Victoria is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to provide support in the maintenance of our quality systems and contribute to the overall quality control of the business. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS To be a perfect fit for this role you will have:

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in food and beverage manufacturing industry.
• Maintain and continuously improve the Quality & Food Safety Management System and ensure products and the site meet requirements and customer standards
• Conduct QC testing of products (e.g. physical, or sensory parameters)
• Perform internal audits as required (e.g. GMP, QA Systems – preoperational check)
• Monitor production processes to ensure all quality parameters (including accurate and verified quality records) are always maintained.
• Conduct investigations into significant Quality and Food Safety events and in the identification of contributing factors, root causes and preventative/corrective actions and provide support with customer complaints
• Work closely with production to ensure delivery of high-quality products
• Project and lab work as required To Succeed With Us:
• Experience in quality assurance/control is essential
• Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or related discipline
• Understanding of HACCP, GFSI standards (e.g. SQF) an advantage
• Certification in HACCP desirable
• Knowledge of current food legislation, regulatory requirements, microbiology
• Internal lab testing and auditing experience desirable
• Reliable and resilient, with the ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
• A hard working, collaborative and diligent self-starter known for your strong attention to detail and can-do attitude
• The ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment and to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and with attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time management skills and manage priorities based on organisational needs
• Self-motivated with the ability to work on owns initiative and as part of a dedicated team
