- Collaborate with project managers to understand project goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Execute project outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Supervision and Coordination:
- Supervise and coordinate construction activities on-site to ensure they align with project plans and specifications.
- Manage and direct construction crews, subcontractors, and other personnel involved in the project.
- Safety Compliance:
- Enforce and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure that workmanship and materials meet the required quality standards.
- Conduct inspections to identify and address any defects or issues promptly.
- Resource Management:
- Manage and allocate resources efficiently, including labour, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget constraints.
- Communication:
- Communicate regularly with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
- Ensure all relevant permits and approvals are obtained and displayed on-site.
- Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve challenges or obstacles that may hinder project progress.
- Collaborate with project management to develop solutions and implement changes as needed.
- A diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is often preferred, but relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Proven experience as a Construction Site Supervisor or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
- OSHA certification or similar safety training is desirable.
