Ngā kawenga | About the role The Director of Finance Business Partnering leads the Business Partnering model, driving continuous improvement in financial and non-financial planning, monitoring, and reporting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the Chief Financial Officer in stewarding the department's financial position and shaping its financial strategy and planning framework. As the Director Finance Business Partnering, you will engage with various parts of finance and the organisation, regionally and nationally, to achieve cohesive and highly effective financial management outcomes. You will provide high-quality strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team, creating cross-functional understanding of the complete financial picture, and influencing organisational thinking for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. This is important mahi that feeds into our overarching strategy Hōkai Rangi by enabling all business groups to thrive. You will champion excellence in financial resource management while building strong internal relationships. • The ability to operate effectively in a Māori cultural setting and has a proven understanding of and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi principles.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills using and interpreting both financial and non-financial information to analyse complex issues, and problem solving.
• Significant experience in leading teams to deliver excellence in financial support, forecasting, budgeting and planning.
• Experience in public sector accounting, and a demonstrated understanding of New Zealand Accounting Standards, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and government requirements.
• Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholder interests with advanced communication skills, an ability to quickly understand and navigate complex issues underpinned by adaptable stakeholder approaches.

The mid point of the salary range is $244,422 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $207,759 - $293,307 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
