Job Title: Thunderhead/SmartDX Developer Location: Canary Wharf – Onsite 3 days per week (Non-negotiable) Duration: 6 months + extensions Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Thunderhead/SmartDX Developer to join our team in Canary Wharf. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining high-quality SmartDX templates for OTC, Rates, Derivatives, and Structured Securitization products. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and experience in a global financial institution. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain Thunderhead/SmartDX templates for complex financial products.
- Manage Thunderhead/SmartDX releases, including regression testing.
- Work with the SmartDX API to create new jobs and build scripts using JavaScript.
- Conduct UAT testing for linked applications affecting SmartDX templates.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine business requirements.
- Debug, perform gap analysis, and gather detailed requirements.
- Prepare MIS reports and analyze template breaks.
- Drive initiatives to improve project efficiency and optimize workflows.
- Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong technical expertise in Java, XML/XSLT, SQL, JavaScript, and Unix/Linux.
- Experience with Thunderhead/SmartDX development and release management.
- Practical knowledge of front-to-back business processes for OTC and securitized derivative products.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Ability to prioritize workloads in a high-demand, multi-client environment.
- Strong control mindset to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Equities and Derivatives experience within a global financial institution in both technical and business roles.
- Proficiency in WordML and experience with structured financial documentation.
